"Rise of the Digital NEH" article
"With more and more humanities scholars embracing scholarship that is either conducted or published online, funding agencies and a network of “digital humanities centers” are stepping up to provide money and organizational structure for what has been a grassroots movement."
More here. (By way of Dan Cohen's Digital Humanities Blog.)
In other news, I'm kind of tired of my own schtick. I'm not saying I'm giving up -- just that the "idea blog" seemed fun five years ago, and now I'm a little over myself. Maybe it has something to do with being depressed the last couple of years. Maybe I'm working too much. Or maybe it was the ideas that just got boring. ANYWAY -- if I don't do ideas, what DO I do? What do you do with the url, "Mary's Great Ideas" after the ideas are gone? No wonder I'm depressed! Maybe twitter will help.

You could open up the site to contributors. Not that I have great ideas, mind you. But perhaps you would find other people's ideas more stimulating?
(Does twitter ever help?)

Clearly what you need is a trip to beautiful Guanajuato Mexico. It's so obvious!!

Well to have an ideas blog, one has to be comfortable plagiarizing, in my opinion. Plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize! You just have to be careful enough to apply a little twist to make it look not too obvious.
One idea that I have been searching in vain for is an explanation for what Twitter (and Tumblr) is for, really. Why is it that I would want to subscribe to a feed of some non-celebrity texting "I'm enjoying a ham sandwich," "Here's a stupid picture," and "Someone cut me off in traffic" etc.?
Sorry to hear about struggles with the big D and hope you see your way through to the idea-laden other side.

Aw -- thanks, you guys! It's true -- the Tweeting isn't helping much, but making plans for Mexico is! And I had some new ideas today - my big new plan is to have lunch more often and use that as an idea generating time (thanks, Pete!).
The problem with a group idea blog is, halfbakery -- wait, no, actually that's the solution!
