Remember my idea for Nostalgia Subscriptions?" That was sure a great idea. Anyway, I'd settle for this set of every New Yorker ever published. Did you know that my birthday is coming? In case someone else already got me the New Yorker set I'd also like one of those USB drives that looks like a beetle. Those things are adorable.

i was kind of disappointed to discover that "every new yorker ever published" was on dvd. it would be much more interesting if you got them on paper. you'd have to give up on finding new tenants for your apartment and just keep the new yorkers up there. and then you'd be like one of those crazy ladies who saves all their newspapers.
they could advertise it as a kind of crazy-person starter set. ("sorry about all those old newspapers and magazines you threw away? worried that there's not enough time to accumulate enough paper so that when you die they'll have to search for your body among towering stacks of outdated publications, or hoping to be killed when one of those teetering stacks falls on you? well, now there's a solution...)
actually there was an article in the nyt recent(ish)ly about some guy in harlem with an amazing collection of dance memorabilia who did, in fact, either get crushed by falling paper or maybe he was just dead in his apartment for a few days before anyone found him. i forget. sorry, that's kind of gross.
that beetle-shaped usb drive is pretty cool. but gizmodo has the lamest graphic ever! gee, do you think they're catering to a bunch of science-fiction obsessed geeks who can't get laid, or what?
