Plot: Nerdy, homely but lovable looser Martin falls in love with blonde suicide hotline hottie. Attempts suicide multiple times in order to spend time with her. Hilarity ensues.
Subtext: Women make you want to kill yourself.
Talent: Saturday Night Live actors
Pitch: Something About Mary meets Harold and Maude
I'm kind of getting into this pitch/proposal genre - it's perfect for me! (short and probably pointless). Maybe I'll write a query letter for this and the Patent Pending porno script.
Exactamundo!, what else would hilarity do but ensue? The writers would have to be careful not to explain certain questions (kind of the way The Simpsons never let you know which state Springfield is in), e.g., why wouldn't Suicide Blondie just tell the guy to go to hell, call the cops, etc.? That way the thrust of the show would be Martin's attempted suicide method of the week (e.g., running with the bulls, HA HA HA!). Or. . . OR!, Martin could *always die* at the end of each episode, kind of like Timmy on South Park. Suicide Blondie wouldn't miss him at all, except for. . .
