Mary's Diet
I don't think this idea was really original, and it's kind of Irma-Bombesque, but still, it's one of those things I've said that other people have quoted back to me, so I thought I'd record them for posterity, especially since this topic is on on my mind:
Mary's diet, or, keeping Kosher the Mary way:
1. Don't eat anything that both contains cheese and is deep fried.
2. Don't eat something just because it's free (this is related to my self-diagnosis of suffering from buffet anxiety -- a condition I made up, but I think probably exists widely -- more on this in a seperate entry).
3. Stop eating before you feel physicall ill.
Those are the only ones I remember, but the best diets are simple, anyway.

Glad you're still in the saddle. Why not turn your blogging and (so far)unrealized career as a product innovator into a career as an advice columnist? This is what you should be doing and how you could contribute the most to society!!! Take your blogs, turn them into a few sample columns and market them!!!!!!!!!

i read the diet and chortled to myself.
then today i went to lunch and ate 3/4 of a fish burrito, then went and got iced coffee with a scoop of coffee ice cream. i got up to walk back to my office and realized that i really felt like i was going to puke. i think it was really too much liquid, rather than too much food, but still. i guess i need to pay more attention to your guidelines.
(i hope this doesn't count as typical californian over-sharing).

It's a lot harder than it sounds to follow this diet!
NPR had a whole show today on "Talk of the Nation" on fat and loosing weight and stuff. It was pretty predictable, but it made me feel very trendy because fat is very much on my mind of late.
I have to say --- although I've been resisting blogging about for obvious reasons -- it's kind of interesting being fatter than ever. My ass bumps into things unexpectedly and stuff. OK, I guess it's not THAT interesting. Mildly interesting at best, now that I write it down. My awareness of my own fat seems to coincide with a nation focus on the same (not my fat, thankfully, but our collective fat) -- which makes me wonder: is this another case of me faith-popcorning a trend? (whatever happened to faith popcorn?). Am I fat because the nation is fat? Anyhoo. Yummy fish burrito. What did you do with the other .25?

OMG -- I SO want to be part of her talent bank!
I feel kind of bad for her, though. Her website kind of sucks. And cacooning! how 80s!

the fish burrito wasn't very good (not bad like in "bad fish"--that wasn't why i wanted to throw up--just bad as in, ehhhh....); i threw the other .25 away.
you so deserve to be part of the talent pool. i'm sure you'll rise to the top (like cream, not like scum). (nice, fatty cream... mmmmmmmm.....)

so far, no word from Faith Popcorns talent bank. I kept one of my day jobs, so not all is lost.
