Jesse Reklaw's Great Idea: Applicant

This is just an excuse to post this picture of Chris's cute bunny reading Applicant, but I do really like Jesse Reklaw's stuff. Slowwave is, as the site puts it, "a collective dream diary authored by different people from around the world, and drawn as a comic strip by Jesse Reklaw." He did one of my dreams once! It was called "Dairy Postoffice" or something -- I have it around on my laptop somewhere, but I'm not sure if I can post it since it's kind of his thing. I got kind of mad because then after I got my dream done, some of my friends started getting their dreams done, like, MULTIPLE times. Especially my friend Orca, who used to be in my "Creative Dreaming" class at MLC. It was supposed to be all non-competetive and stuff, but she still managed to have the most interesting, wierdest dreams of any of us. The I heard her husband was going to party at Jesse Reklaw's house. Well, okay, he was going to A party a Jesse Reklaw's house. The last dream I submitted, Jesse told me (very nicely) that it was a pretty common one. Sigh.

Anyway, bitter jealousy about other people's better dreams aside, almost more than Slowwave, I love Applicant which is this thing he did with a bunch of files he found in an Ivy League dumpster. His website describes it as, "Pictures of hopeful students, accompanied by unflattering quotes from their professors and employers" and I gave it to a bunch of my academic friends as a Christmas present one year. Actually, I just gave away my last copy, so maybe I'd better order some more ... holidays are coming up.

Aww, Mary, you're the best! I just stumbled across this page. Please send some more dreams; I'm sure they're great. Boris never came to my party. Now I don't live in that cool warehouse, so no more parties for you, Boris!

I hope Applicant didn't give that cute bunny any papercuts.
