Here's my favorite idiotic nickname for Lita dating to 2000 when the movie "Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigalo" came out:
"Deuce Dogalo, Male Hogalo"
I hope you're up there butt-scootin' in doggie heaven, Lita!

I remember Don (Mary's grandfather) telling Mary and I the little known fact that dog spit was one of the most difficult substances to remove from dishes. Usually he'd tell us this while watching Lita lick up every last morsel of food off of every dish, leaving a trail of spit everywhere. Don was also finnicky about using more than one teaspoon of Joy for every five gallons of dishwater. Ha ha! Good job, Lita! Hope you win the stare down with St. Peter and make it through the pearly gates of Doggie Heaven. If you end up in Doggie Hell, then, well, don't let Hitler's dog or Lassie #8 push you around.

Doggie heaven has plenty of room for ticky-tacky-ing around. And infinite wet food. And an automated ear-rubbing station.

Mary, I can't believe I have to resort to the internet to discover that poor Lita is no more! Join the guilt club vis-a-vis leaving the dirty work to mothers/others. Mom had to put Milo down for me, and Michael did the deed with Oreo. On the other hand, I dealt with Shunka for Jacquie and it still tops my list of lifelong Most Traumatic Events. Lite and I kind of grew up together, side by side, fighting for table scraps and a seat on the couch. Us kids in the neighborhood used to love playing with her because she was the only dog that we could find that would fart when you squeezed her, she was amazing.
